Kradal™ was originally developed as an alternative to hip protectors. The Aged Care Research Group at Otago University advised that while hip protectors worked in testing, the compliance burden made them ineffective in practice. Kradal™ embeds the protection directly into the floor — no compliance required, protecting all parts of the body, not just the hips.
Applications
Kradal Smart Foam Underlay is recommended for use with vinyl or linoleum sheet (nominal thickness 2mm) in all areas of aged care facilities, including wet areas. It is also suitable for childcare centres, hospitals, gymnasiums, and the private homes of elderly people. The subfloor should be prepared appropriately and suitable adhesives used. Installation should be completed by experienced flooring technicians.
